First of all, my background in communicating to audiences - as a public speaker, writer, and trainer - gives me the experience in meeting my audience where they are intellectually and emotionally. That comes in handy when speaking conversationally, as an instructor or expert, or when relating to listeners.
Secondly, my background in performance (as a public speaker, as well as a short stint in improv comedy) makes me nimble, flexible and creative when voicing your words. That ability to take direction and be creative gives you options from which to choose, and means you’ll get to where you want to be sooner, in fewer takes.
Lastly, my experience in a number of specialized fields, including information technology and regulatory compliance, enables me to speak authoritatively and confidently on complex and/or jargon-driven topics. That makes e-learning, training and documentary film listeners more accepting of me as a knowledgable narrator and source of knowledge.
